Vacation is never far off, and when you’re stuck at home with the kids, the options for fun and entertainment can seem pretty limited. This is true, too, if you work from home and you’re intentional about setting boundaries. However, many fun activities await in the kitchen and living room. There are also lots of ways you can revamp your outdoor space to encourage play—whether you have a small balcony or big backyard. Here are a few suggestions from the San Jose Unified Council of PTAs. 

Having Fun Outdoors at Home 

There’s no substitute for quality time outdoors as a family. And while traversing a trail in a national park is certainly memorable, something as simple as making s’mores over the backyard fire pit or planting a family tree can create just as sweet a memory. Here are a few suggestions on how you and your family can spend some quality time in the great outdoors without going too far from home:
